The Gee's Bend collective hails from Alabama, a group of resourceful African American women quilters who create stunning artworks from salvaged fabric scraps and remnants during a period of cloth scarcity.

This fashion collection is inspired by John James Audubon's renowned illustrations. The extinct Carolina Parrot, once vibrant in Carolina skies, symbolizes our ecosystem's fragility and the urgent need for environmental change. This collection blends modern fashion trends with Audubon's detailed bird illustrations, creating an elegant line of clothing that echoes the beauty of nature. Showcased at the Smithsonian, Audubon's "The Birds of America" is celebrated as one of the most exquisite ornithological works, capturing the vivid beauty and intricate details of each species within their natural habitats.

Women's Wear Inspired by Queen of the Night, Moonflower - University of Cambridge Museums & Botanic Garden | ARTiSTORY

"Queen of the Night" Elegance is a fashion collection inspired by the rare Moonflower (Strophocactus wittii), also known as the "Queen of the Night." This unique cactus flower blooms only once between sunset and sunrise, revealing its beauty and sweet scent before withering away within 12 hours.

The inspired collection features designs that capture this fleeting elegance, with floral motifs and delicate details. The Moonflower, found in the tropical rainforests of Brazil, is extremely rare in cultivation. The only specimen in the UK is at the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, helping curators and scholars protect and study our environment's diversity.

In this creative concept, ARTiSTORY takes notes from Charlotte Brontë's seminal novel, "Jane Eyre." The British Library's autographed 1847 manuscript goes beyond its literary roots, which helped us infuse contemporary fashion with Brontë's elegant handwriting.

This unique collection, which we called "Threads of Herstory: Eyre of Elegance," celebrates the timeless spirit of feminism and storytelling. By combining the legacy of pioneering women like Mary Wollstonecraft, Jane Austen, and George Eliot into fabric, this collection honors the enduring significance of women's narratives in literature and fashion.
