Empowering Women's Voices in Art

TOM'S: Art You Can Walk In

In Collaboration with the Frida Kahlo Foundation

The Challenge

TOMS recognized the need to amplify women's voices in art and culture, particularly those historically marginalized or silenced. Frida Kahlo, despite her profound artistic legacy, represents countless female artists whose stories deserve broader recognition. The challenge was to create a meaningful platform that celebrates women's creative expression while making art accessible to everyday consumers, transforming footwear into a canvas for feminist storytelling and cultural empowerment.

Our Solution

We partnered with ARTiSTORY to develop an exclusive collection that transforms three of Frida Kahlo's most powerful self-portraits into wearable statements of female empowerment. Each shoe design serves as a tribute to women's resilience, creativity, and authentic self-expression. The Valencia Rope Platform Slip-On featuring 'The Frame' becomes a symbol of breaking traditional boundaries, while the Classic Canvas Alpargata with 'Self-Portrait with Monkeys' celebrates the protective sisterhood among women. The Seasonal Canvas Slip-On adorned with 'Still Life with Parrots' represents the vibrant life force and creative energy that women bring to the world.
