Monet Artworks Immersive Experience at Changi Airport

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) has launched its first installation in Asia, a Monet-themed immersive art experience at Singapore Changi Airport.

ARTiSTORY, a specialist in art and cultural intellectual property (IP) licensing, brokered the licensing deal between the museum and Changi Airport to use the former’s Monet collection.

‘Monet: A Journey Through Seasons’ features prints of the original works of art within seasonal environments with audio, sensory effects, interactive exhibits and photo opportunities.

Visitors are taken through the frosty commune of Vétheuil in the winter section and the French Riviera in the spring section.

They experience the poppy fields and lily ponds of Giverny in the summer section and the rocky cliffs of Les Petites Dalles in the autumn section.

In each season, there are two Monet reproductions, as well as decorations and experiences based on the artist’s work.

“This is an exciting moment for MFA to see our collections being transformed into interactives to serve audiences in Singapore and beyond,” said Debra LaKind, senior director of intellectual property and business development at MFA Boston.

“We hope this is an unforgettable experience for the global travelers.”

“This is one of the many ways CAG [Changi Airport Group] tries to provide our travellers and visitors with unique and memorable experiences and make art accessible to the public,” said Phau Hui Hoon, general manager of landside concessions at CAG.

ARTiSTORY recently launched its first retail platform, an online store selling branded items inspired by artworks held by major museums and institutions across the world.

Singapore Changi Airport opened the 10-storey Jewel expansion in April 2019. The £951m entertainment destination boasts the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, as well as a giant trampoline and an art sculpture that doubles up as slides.
